Wave Turbulence In Nonlinear Optics, BECs, and Related Areas

Overview

The aim of the second meeting of the UK Fluids Network sponsored Special Interest Group (SIG) in Wave Turbulence is to outline the major challenges and obstacles to applying the wave turbulence paradigm to nonlinear optics, BECs, and related areas; essentially those that can be described by the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Through talks and designated "round-table" discussions, the objective of this meeting is to:

  • Bring together UK-based nonlinear optics and BECs communities under a wave turbulence framework
  • Outline problems, challenges, and obstacles in future nonlinear optics and BECs research that could be overcome with new developments in the wave turbulence approach

Venue and Directions

The meeting will be held at Aston University in the centre of Birmingham, UK. The location of the meeting will be in room MB727 of the main building. On arrival, please go to the main reception and receive a visitors pass before taking the red skylift to the 7th floor. Lunch and Dinner will be provided at the Courtyard Restaurant in the Conference Aston building.
